Lower Kindergarten (LKG):

LKG, or Lower Kindergarten, is typically the first formal year of schooling for children, usually around the age of 4 or 5. It serves as an introduction to the structured learning environment and lays the foundation for future academic pursuits. In LKG, the emphasis is on nurturing a child's curiosity, social skills, and independence. The curriculum focuses on holistic development, including cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains. Activities are designed to promote language development, basic numeracy skills, fine and gross motor skills, creativity, and social interaction. Play-based learning is central to the LKG curriculum, as it allows children to explore, experiment, and discover through hands-on experiences. Teachers provide a supportive and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow at their own pace, fostering a love for learning and preparing them for further academic challenges.

Upper Kindergarten (UKG):

UKG, or Upper Kindergarten, typically follows LKG and serves as the final year of preschool education before children transition to primary school. Children in UKG are usually around the age of 5 or 6. The UKG curriculum builds upon the foundation laid in LKG and focuses on further developing academic and social skills necessary for success in primary school. The emphasis is on refining language and numeracy skills, expanding vocabulary, and introducing more advanced concepts in mathematics. Additionally, there is continued emphasis on fine and gross motor skill development, creativity, and social interaction. UKG also prepares children for the transition to a more structured learning environment, introducing routines and expectations similar to those found in primary school. Teachers provide a balance of structured activities and play-based learning experiences, encouraging children to explore their interests, express themselves creatively, and collaborate with their peers. The goal of UKG is to foster a smooth transition to primary school while instilling a lifelong love for learning.
